Yes I am leading the first trip of the season, It will be the week of Thanksgiving. I think the last trip of the season is in March.
The govt of Uruguay limits the number of pikes we can bring back. Each person can bring back no more than 4 of any 1 species.
So for the trips that are planned for the rest of the year you are looking at around 60 or so minuano coming out with about 1/3rd of those going to Europe. Not sure how many trips are planned for Jan,Feb, and March of 2010. but figure around 60 minuano each month.

Only if you go to the 3 rivers they are collected in (Curieum, Tacarembo and Yi), 60 a month is not going to happen, maybe 100 for the whole season. Ken
yup, in March we were at all three rivers and didn't get one! Mostly because of the flooding rivers, That is probably the one fish I really regret not getting when I was down there!!! Maybe Vitatta as well

We did not make any collecting at the Cuareim or Tacuarembo...did we??

Felipe, was it a different section of the Cuariem that we were at? I also thought that we were at Tacuarembo. . . I clearly remember that were were making comments about Tacuarembo - maybe we were just joking about how it was pronounced? I have to apologize, I wasn't myself on that trip, my stomach problems (airport/airline food!) were affecting my senses

no...we made diff. parts of the Rio Uruguay...and the Yi...but never the Tacuarembo or the Cuareim...but we talked a lot about them because you wanted the minuano so much...hahaha!
