anyone know what he is?

he came from the assorted african cichlids tank at petco.
hes about 1.5" long and black with white edges on his fins
he is slightly barred with grey and he has a compressed "beak"

i think he might be a blockhead/buffalo head?

He is not a buffalohead. Most likely a white finned Pseudotropheus sp. "Acei" .

i once saw a metriaclima zebra/labeotropheus trewvassae[sp?] that looked extremely similar. my friend and i made fun of it.

His mouth is deformed, but not enough to prevent eating it seems.

i have a lab. trewvassae and his upper lip bumps out and his bottom lip looks smaller-giving him a beaked look. this little guy just looks like his face is flattened. ive never seen a mouth like that..

regardless of what he is, hes really cute! id keep him because he adds character lol. and he can eat too, so there are no problems there.

i doubt its an acei, i have one in that tank and it looks nothing like it, the body shape is different even
and he sure as hell can eat. he eats pieces of shrimp as big as his head and fights the leporinus over everything. i dont know why, they both get along with everyone else
