It's not a TT.. I've seen a few pics but never one in person. From my understanding they get about the same size as a TT or Fire eel = Huge. They may be along the same genetic lines as a TT and likley is either a natural hybrid/ sub species.

GL finding one, beautiful fish! If I had more room i'de deffinatly be looking into one of these myself. not to mention some of the other rare species of this "eel" type ;)

I'de likely try and contact some of the asian fish importers. Go straight to the source. I imagine these are a rarity. and not collected as widespread as many other species are.

EDIT: and with that being said you can also find some very similarly outstanding TT patterns and coloration, You just have to keep your eyes out and have patience. imo striped peacock eels have a similar if not as flashy patterning to them. But I'm fond of most of the spiney eels.
 
its a new species so it wont appear in the hobby for some time. it you want something similar try a tire track eel.
 
who has them? because i want one that a pretty eel.:drool:
