Have you tested your water?
No
If I did not test my water...
  1. ...I recognize that I will likely be asked to do a test, and that water tests are critical for solving freshwater health problems.
Do you do water changes?
Yes
What percentage of water do you change?
21-30%
How frequently do you change your water?
Every week
If I do not change my water...
  1. ...I recognize that I will likely be recommended to do a water change, and water changes are critical for preventing future freshwater health problems.

Leftover food that has fungus on it. Remove asap.
I removed it. I never seen it before. Why is this the first time? And why is it so bad? Asking for educational purposes. Now that i removed it should i treat the water or something

Fungus can spread so remove uneaten food and maybe feed less. No need to medicate but stay consistent with water changes and filter maintenance.

I just switched tanks to a 60gal. And still new, i threw like 4 algae wafers in bc i was worried the plecos would die. Do you just remove extra food w a vac? Or a net

Don’t worry - it’s nothing to panic about. It probably just means your over feeding a bit, everyone is guilty of that at some point.

Just keep an eye on your fish when they’re eating, don’t drop it in and walk away or anything. Use the old “if they didn’t eat it in 2-3 minutes it’s too much” rule. Make sure you gravel vac the substrate.

Not sure how well that rule applies to plecos...
