Anyone order from Aquariumsands.com lately?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I ordered from him 4 months ago when they were Aquariumsands.com. His company is only 40 mins away from my house and it never arrived for 3 weeks. His online site went down several days/weeks. Couldn't get a hold of him. I search for his company and found another site that he just put up. I emailed him several times and finally he replied that he shipped it already. Waited another week , never arrived. I emailed him again about lying that he has shipped it and i wanted my money back. He emailed me back saying i was crazy and irrational. He told me if i really wanted it so badly i could picked it up in Orange County. I finally met the guy, and he handed me a box of black sand that i ordered but the sand was really sharp.
He told me i can keep the sand that he already shipped also. Well, the sand never arrived or shipped. Stay away from this guy who works out of his house.
Also he claims that his sand is 3M.

I don't think it's 3M either. I posted earlier about him claiming he had 3M Colorquartz in dark gray yet 3M doesn't manufacture that color.
3M is discontinuing their Colorquartz sand this month, that's going to suck.

I purchased a auction from aquariumsands on ebay for 150lbs of black for 67.50 shipped and it arrived in 3 days. But that was 6-8 months ago.

I was happy but I guess I got lucky.

I just looked and I guess he doesn't do abay anymore.

HMM

First off: Sorry to resurrect an old thread!!! :WHOA:

Anyway I ordered some tan sand from him a year ago, and REALLY liked the sand. I did have some hassle. I ordered it, and it never showed up. I emailed and emailed and eventually he sent me another batch, although not quite the amount I had asked for. I think I payed for 100 pounds and only got 75. He said the first batch was returned to him as undeliverable address (about a month later?).

Despite that since I like the sand so much I was trying to find him to order some more. He shipped it in flat rate boxes. Getting that to Alaska it was INCREDIBLY cheap. No one else seems to be willing to do flat rate boxes.

So does anyone else have a good recomendation? The sand I got was more like a real fine gravel, smooth but irregular edges, and a very nice tan color.

Here is a picture with a little bit of flourite on top so you can get an idea what I bought, and am looking for. I need probably 200 pounds of the stuff.

Too bad he is out of buisiness, although it sounds like he needed to be! :screwy:
