Anyone seen or used this??

They don't work at all if you've got low KH. From everything I've read about them, they don't work very well under any circumstances. Just go with CO2.

Oh, those are expensive. They aren't worth it IMO. Pressurized co2 is a better option on larger tanks.
 
Yea, I was reading some reviews on it, very few were favorable. I just can't see investing hundreds for a CO2 system for a 40 gallon. Might have to look into a DIY CO2 system for it.
 
at my work we have ones that work upon same principal but are exterior and go fer 70 bux. advantage over the diy is you can switch theese off.
 
cool. i was just about to post a question on these things. good thing i found out they dont work that good. looks like pressurized CO2 it is!
