Anyone stung by their Ray? Story? PAin Description?

I got tagged by my male motoro while trying to move him out with net,
got me on the left hand between my thumb and index it was only a light gash but hurt like hell, i ran my hand in hot water which seemed to help.
Two months later i started to lose all feeling in my thumb and finger cut it short i needed to see a specialist and have an operation which was 18 stiches and alot of $$$.

Do you mind sharing why the surgery was needed and what caused the numbness? I really want to know. Thanks for sharing!

i also still have numbness in my foot. a little. the venom fries your local serotonin receptors. that's what causes the pain and eventual numbness.
if you get stung SEE A DOCTOR FOR ANTIBIOTICS. it is very important. you will likely to get a nasty infection if you dont

I have been stung in my hand. It was the worst pain ever.I have broken multiple bones,and I can't even describe the pain. I ran my hand under hot water hoping the pain would subside. 2 hours later my hot water ran out, and I had to go to the hospital. They gave me 2 shots of morphine straight into my IV and it did not do anything. So they gave me a shot of something called dilaudid. It is 5x stronger than morphine. That finally made the pain subside. My hand was swollen twice as big as my other hand for 2 day. And the flesh around the wound was black.

Had I have been stung 1" lower. I would have been stung in my radial artery, and I would assume it would have been even worse if you could imagine that.

Thanks for sharing your stories guys. I am new to owning a Freshwater stingray but he definitely is my favorite fish i have ever kept (so much personality). These first hand accounts of a sting will absolutely keep me very cautious around him.
