It's a nice loooking tank., Generally I wouldnt pay over 100 for a 40., but this one caught my eye, and i need an attractive tank to perhaps, breed guppies/feeders in?

Let me ask you this if you just saw a pic of this tank without it being set up would you still consider it or is it just the way that it was setup thats selling you on it?

It was the fact that it is a completely established planted aquarium that rocked my boat persay. I have spoke with the owner and tank is empty, no fish, no plants, but comes with driftwood, and he said he could throw in some java fern from his other tank. Not to sure anymore. I thought that it had a lot of plant work.

If that is the case, then this is nothing close to an established anything and would have to be cycled and set up by you as a planted tank........that being said, I wouldn't pay 110 for a 40 gallon set up when 55's and 60's occassionally come up on the site for less. It is a nice set up, but I would attempt and talk them down on the price just alittle. Now, if you can get the tank looking like it does in the pic, with a school of neons some other tetras and cory's, that would be sick.....Add some guppy's for breeding and there you go....

I've picked up a 20g with stand lights, heater, filter, rocks, plastic plants -$30
55 g (with lid and stand) + 30 g (with lid and stand) + 3x 10g = $70
35 g, stand, lid, lights, filter, heater, rocks, deco, food and meds = $40
Tomorrow Im grabbing a 90g, stand, lid and lights = $75

$110 for the 40g is a bit much. Wait for a better deal, especially if you intend to use the tank to make money. The less you spend on the initial investment the sooner you start turning a profit.
