Ive always wondered what it would take and if it was possible

My dad got an insane pool heater this year and it seems like it would be able to do the trick...

If anyone has tried it, it has to be on MFK lol

I came close but chickened out. I bought a 2000W titanium in-line heater for my 1600g outdoor pond. I figured it won't take much since I live in San Diego but the current electricity bill is already high so the heater sits in the garage. I'm curious to know as well.

Agreed. Power costs too much. If you could find a way to use solar it might be an option. Either solar cells to charge a battery for it to run off of, or a solar thermal option to heat the water could be helpful.

My dads heater is called a heat exchanger and uses the outside air to heat the water. Its rated to run until he outside temp hits 50 degrees. But what if u kept the heater indoors?

Someday in the future i will try it, so i can keep tropical monsters in a pond year long lol

If someone could sort this problem out us guys over here would be happy lol.

Heat exchangers are only "free" when the temp of the ambient air (outside) is warmer than the water you are trying to heat and you still pay for pumps. If you put the heat exchanger inside you are now paying for the heat with whatever you use to heat the inside of your house.

I dont rely care about the cost or having to heat a seperate room etc

Im wondering if it would work or not... Highly insulated, and an insane heater...

Is it possible or would the cold temps just be way too much?

Sure it can be done. Ski resorts always have hot tubs bubbling away in frigid temperatures. You say you don't care about the cost but I bet your dad does. How big is your pond?
