I originally thought you meant g.tile. That's why i said they are usually available fresh water and can be accimilated to brackish as they grow and to full marine as adult. The species you are referring to is full marine I would not reccomend brackish.

at the size you are refering to they should not be in bw what so ever. if your going to put them in your tank id suggest you bump up your salinity to full marine, get a skimmer, and then get the eel.
