Anyone with experience keeping Chinese perches (Siniperca chuatsi)? Are they easy to get onto pellets?

I saw a listing on my local group selling some albino Chinese perches and thought it would be a great addition to my albino predator pond. BUT I can't find any reliable info online, some sources say they will only eat live whilst others say they eat pellets. I like having fish that eat pellets as they save me money and time.

Have had one normal coloration, he ate shrimp and smelt. I believe if I mixed cut fish with pellets he would’ve eaten. Sold him before we got to that point. They grow nice and quick once off live

They will eat pellets but takes a bit of time and dedication. I had 2 that i converted to pellets. They would first only eat feeders. I then fed dead feeders dangled into tank via fishing line. Next step i would just throw dead feeders and they would be eaten as soon as they hit the water. Once they were at that point of associating me with feeding time and eating the dead feeders, i switched to massivore/frozen and they ate that no problem. Good luck

I had one awhile back, it was the only fish I had trouble getting off live food. I had it eat a piece of shrimp once and I had to use a string to "go fishing" with it. Unfortunately, it didn't last very long after that.
