I had a pleco that got stung, killed him instantly, barb went right through its head, it was kind of funny but sad at the same time. The stinger never broke off so the ray was swimming around with a dead pleco on its stinger for a while until I pulled the pleco off

Whoa, wish you took some pics or a video of this!!!!

thanks for all the kind words everyone!!

i just got home and its not lookin good. hes getting a huge bubble in his eye, its getting worse. it looks like air... he keeps doing slow laps around the tank which isnt good, hes wasting energy.

he has always been a tough cookie, but hes also pretty fragile in ways...

hope he pulls through but i started looking up companies to get him stuffed if he dies :(

ill keep everyone posted...

Probably went a lot deeper than just the eye. Hope for the best!

I hate to bring this up and I'm sure you're considering it, but give him as long as it takes for him to recover without it becoming inhumane. If it gets too bad, euthanize. You want to give him a fair amount of time to recover. It's always a possibility. Good luck and keep us posted.

man that sucks badly.

ive deff thought about it, and deff wont let it go too long.

im rely thinking of transfering him to a diff tank and researching a good eye medication. hes still alive and fairly well but his eye is infected bad...

just transfered him to a tank of his own. was pretty easy since he was pretty weak.

i just did about 1 lb of salt. contemplating a prima/mela or maracyn med... any suggestions?
