The problem is there because I have to use city water to mix my salt with (which has phospates) and family members like to leave the lights running 24/7. I was just looking for something that would clean this stuff up until I can look into ro units...
Anyone of those three fish would be considered too much for a 40 Gallon tank, much less all three. The only way you're going to get rid of cyano, aside from upgrading, is to increase flow inside the tank and make sure there are no dead areas (this is where cyano usually starts). Also, ad a refugium w/ caulerpa that will help by competing for the nutirents the cyano needs. Run the light in the refugium 24/7 and put the tank on a timer (less ON time is better..) Good luck!
