Anything for a 55gal?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Somthing for a 55 eh... You could always buy a baby jardini and raise it up till you get a big enough tank.

You can normaly find them 2-3". At 20-30bucks.

Or, cichlids. Real popular choice for 55gals.

they are cheaper than most true aros and require a much smaller tank. much cheaper in the long run. sorry im not razman...

everyone wants to be....;)

you would like them more if you see them eat, their mouths open at almost a 90 degree angle and you can see their big sharp hard bony tongue. plus they arent picky when it comes to food, they eat FD krill, FD bloodworms, etc.. you could get bichirs and knifefish.

Maybe birchirs, but african chiclid tank would be pretty sweet

now youre going to have me hunting for one!!! lol!

there are lots of fish you can do. If you want some really great fish, get a pair of Salvinii. They are a central american cichlid, have incredible colors, are very fiesty, and very active. The males will max out at about 6" and the females at about 4". Also could do some convicts, female Nicaraguense, severum, alot of possibilities. I hate to plug other sites, but check out the profiles part of Cichlid-forum.com. Very good, good info on tons of different cichlids, african, central, and south american.

55's make pretty cheap african tanks. You could stack a couple slate pieces to make caves and used crush coral for substrate. Mine doesnt look very good because I didnt take enough time to set it up nice.

I would do an African tank too. You will probably get the most color out of them and they can handle being in a narrow tank. Just stay away from the larger Africans like frontosa and such.
