If the question is what did the aquarium cost to construct? The 8,000-gallon plywood fish tank including two 1-1/2" Acrylic 4’ by 8’ windows and insulation cost about $1.00 a gallon. The $1.00 a gallon does not include pumps and filtration. There was no labor cost as I built the plywood aquarium myself in a little more than 2 months. Everything came from Home Depot except the windows. Today you could build it for less as lumber prices are down.

The Redtail-Tiger Shovelnose catfish is a hybrid, one of four in the 8,000-gallon outdoor aquarium located near Seattle. These catfish are fast growing, eat almost anything including all manner of slightly smaller fish and like to be hand fed. This catfish swallowed part of a clay pot. The owner cut the fish’s belly open with a box cutter and removed the clay chard, see photos link below. I adopted the fish over a year ago.
