API nitrate test

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have the same problem. I just try to pick the closest color range and consider my level to be the average of the two. Good thing fish are less sensitive to Nitrates.

I like my test kit.

cough *sissy* cough cough ---lol

But really which do you use?

forget the readings as much and just have a routine water change system, i think the tests kits are good for cycling or checking to see if your biological filtration got destroyed but once your cycled the test kit can collect dust as long as your doing WC's

I have the API Liquid test kit. Can't say I've used it lately. LOL

Let us see, if it is red you have 20. But if it is red then you have 80. Then again if all you get is red then you have something different. :screwy:
I just quit testing for nitrates and keep up on water changes.

Try cutting it 50% with tap water (assuming your tap has no nitrates) to get a color you can possibly read. "Never let it get to red" seems to be a good motto.

meh , I hate the things. I got the api liquid master test kit. All the other tests are easier to read. I got the seachem nitrate/nitrite test kit. It is a little easier to read but not much.
