API also provides a test strip version.
The comparator strip is on the right .
I use both liquid and strips, have compared them, and they both agreed in the ball park accuracy.
There are also other versions, made for swimming pools, the one below was found at Home Depot
Some are strips that are easier to read certain colors, depending on different degrees of color blindness.
The test kits I use the most are ammonia, pH and High Range pH, KH. But I also have digital TDS pens and a continuous digital monitor for one tank that does TDS/Temp/pH. I have the GH kit but rarely use it. I have not owned a nitrate kit in years. I only use the nitrite kit when running my biofarm for cycling filters and then rarely. But I have been at this for over 20 years and am pretty familiar with my tanks and what I need to test and when.
The API master kit does not have the test for KH or GH.
I got the Api Master Test kit and I highly reccomend it. You could also try test strips which is easier to use and you get your results quicker but I believe that the Master Test kit always gives better results
