does anyone have trouble testing nitrates with this? i always seem to lose water.

i find mine to be pretty good..what do you mean lose water?

seems like water comes out of the top and the final result shows less water than was in there in the first place before all the shaking. it says not to cover hole on the top.

Its api right mine has no hole on the top of the cover

its so air can get in i think. its smaller than a needle prick would be

just lightly swirl the test tube to mix...

I don't have the direction, but the illustrations show on back to mix with the cap on and your finger over the cap. This is how I do mine with no known troubles.

A few drops of water isn't going to make a noticeable difference with a test that measures in 5-10 ppm increments. Mine leaks a little, too, no big deal.
