Apistogramma borelli breeding and softening water?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
After losing some fish behind the background and them dieing it's been removed until I silicon it in properly.
UnfiUnfortuna I lost the male appistogramma, I bought an aggazi pair then found some borelli.
I lost the female aggazi the day I put her in so currently have the two males and original female borelli...

On the plus side the female seems a little more interested in the new male.

Sorry for your loss.

Thanks guys, well the little agazzi is Mia for a week or two, not sure what happened, maybe the pleco ate him cause I can't find him.?
The female has completely changed colour, they look good, I'm closely monitoring a baby GT I'm trying to put an inch on but he is behaving ATM, went in on Sunday.
Any appistogramma look great, I'm wondering if the female is broody, is this breeding dress?

Cool fish! Any updates?

Cheers pal,I kept losing one of the pair so I gave up on breeding and my loan male now lives with 6 glowlights, 6 Cory, a queen gold nugget plec (2.5") and a grow out Ranchi in the 17g.
All I can think is maybe I was getting sub dominant males as females but who knows.
This one is doing well tho.
Lost a few fish behind the backgound so it's now outside the tank:-)
