this is what im thinking for fish, 4 of the following dwarf species
bolivin rams
blue rams
gold rams
angel rams
Appisto aggraszi
appisto cockatoo
appisto viejita

For other fish im doing three large (35+) groups of tetras i was thinking the following
buenos aires tetras
bleeding heart tetras
marble hatchet fish

for bottom feeding i was thinking of doing three plecos, 1 bristtle nose and 2 standerd

for filtration 1 ehiem wet/dry cannister, 1 ehiem pro II cannister, 4 undergravel jet filters.
i need plant ideas whats some good species of both floating and substrate species

personally, I would cut out the plecos and use a large shoal of 20+ corys. Other than that, sounds like it will be great! Be sure to plant it heavily :)

If you're planning on getting plants, which I presume you would be with your fish selections, Buenos Aeries Tetra aren't going to work. Choose another high bodied tetra similar to your Bleeding Heart like Serpae/Diamond or even Columbian Blue Flame, etc.

Agreed, corys for the win!!

:iagree: Get the corydoras pygmaeus. They would look look very neat in your setup since they school in the middle column of the tank.

i would take out all those plecos and drop in some otos instead... get a small school of like 6-8.
corys are a good idea too - try some panda... adolfi... trilineatus... sterbai... all are good

yea, i didn't know if the dwarfs would attack the corys, whats some good shelters for the fish i was thinking of some plant pots but what else for caves?
Also since the dwarves stay mostly to the bottom would the undergravel jet filter disturb the fish? i mean its meant to keep all food debree and other stuff off the substrate

whats some good things to feed for the tank? i was thinking a staple of flake food, then supliments of brine shrimp and blood worms

Dwarfs completely ignore Corydoras unless they're breeding and a cheeky Corydoras 'waddles' (:D) a little close. Corydoras are armoured catfish anyway so I highly doubt those tiny mouths will do much if any damage whatsoever.

Ditch the Undergravel filter, you want sand as the substrate for Corydoras, Plecos and Dwarfs (Keyholes especially will sift sand). Look into possibly using sinking leaves (I think maple leaves are the most common), as the dwarfs will push them around and use them as cover.

For food, staple diet of Hikari or similar Community Wafers, which are small sinking/floating pellets, mixed with smaller Hikari Gold Pellets or just crush up larger ones into small chunks, although most dwarfs won't have trouble taking the small or mini pellets as they're growing up. Invest in a Mortar and Pestle, and crush up food once a day, or every second day, spiraluna flakes or good quality pellets and feed them. Will make a mess for a little while after feeding but it'll put your fish into an activity frenzy and give fish like Corydoras and Plecos a little more than merely others scraps to feed on, and Tetras will also dig this. If you do keep plecos, be sure to feed vegetables once a week or so such as Cucumber, Zucchini, Pumpkin, Eggplant etc. attached to a rock or whatever so it sits on the bottom.

yea okay thats makes sense will i have to worry about the rams cross breeding?

By "undergravel jet filter" do you mean the "oldschool" plate suction UG filter or jets of water to stop dead stops and debris?

If you meant UGjets, I wouldn't drop it as japes suggested. It's a large tank and you'll have equally large amounts of dead space where debris will collect. Even with jets there will still be a lot of work for corries.
But if you mean UGfilter.. then I'd follow japes's suggestion and leave it out.
