Apple snails banned in MN

Went to lfs today and was told they no longer had snails, it is illegal to bring them into the state. Whats the dill yo?

Maybe because too many people let them go into the wild and they actually survive and threaten native wildlife. I think thats why a lot of fish might be illegal here and other tropical places like Hawaii and ish. I bet you can still get them though.

I'm sure it is because of idiots releasing stuff into the wild. Has anyone noticed that MN isnot a tropical environment?
