This year I'm finally eligible to volunteer at the aquarium over the summer :headbang2 Although you have to be 18 to dive in the tanks :irked: there is still other stuff I can do.

It's apparantly a very hard program to get into, though. There's a 5 page application and I need some help with some of the stuff.

It asks what grade I'm in, and the lowest choice is 9th, I'm an 8th grader though. Over the summer, I become a 9th grader, so should I just put 9th grader? Since I don't have a specific course of study should I just leave that blank?
It asks about my previous work with animals, since I've done nothing official, should I leave it blank? Or can I count all the fish and other animals I've kept as previous work?

Yes, age is only a number.

Nope, tell them you are interested in an internship to boost your scholastic endeavors. Biology, marine sciences etc.

Yep, elaborate as much as possible how you will be able to help them. Keep it direct and to the point. Do not mention your bad points and, go for it! The people you meet may turn out to be business contacts for the rest of your life.

So I can say that I keep fish and reptiles as previous work with animals?

Make sure u follow every direction and answer everythin!

one piece of advice that will help with job applications later on.

Never leave anything blank. If you cant answer, put N/A (not applicable/ doesnt apply to you)

Otherwise, if you are in 9th grade i am sure they will understand that you dont have any if not much official experience or courses of study.

Just fill in what you can with any info you do have.

Tell them how long you have been keeping fish, tell them you hope your course of study will eventually be marine biology or ichtheology or something like that.

you dont have to leave it blank, just tell the truth and tell them what you DO have
