I have an AC70, and I use a sponge on the bottom, carbon in the middle, and a sponge on top.

i use 2 A.C 500(110's) on my 90 gallon have for years with no problems.1'st level sponge, 2nd level big bag of ceramic's now made by Aquaclear used to use fluval stuff. Oh and i don't use charcoal in my filters theres no need. You can never have to much filtration just too much stimulation.

I have three AC 110's on my 125 gallon. First level is sponge, second is 2 bags of biomax (ceramic rings) and the top level is three bags of purigen
