Aqua-glo and Power-glow

Hey, I just picked up a cheap T8 fixture for my 120 gallon tank (48x24x24) and I need to decide which bulbs to use. I read Power Glo's are brighter but Aqua Glo's show better coloration. The fish I'll be keeping in this tank are going to have orange, red, yellow and maybe some green / blue.

Would there be any disadvantage to using one of each bulb? Or should I use two of the same bulb.

Any suggestions?

Different bulbs bring out different colors...try both.

I think powerglos that are a year old STILL look better than AquaGlo's..

definitely go power glo. brighter and show off fish colours just as well.

aqua glo's are dull and pinkish. not good IMO.

I use double powerglos on my florescent tanks.

This sounds like a lot of hearsay until I hear the lux-ratings and kelvin temps of both bulbs.

Which would be the proper one to get to show off the colors on fish?

Check Zoo Med's website. It depends on what color fish you have, how deep the tank is, and if you have plants or not.
