The 3k pond is the answer to all your problems. Stop all other tanks and FOCUS on that. :D Then it wouldn't matter what Crenicichla you get. :)

Even in a 300gal adding multiple Crenicichla is remarkably easier. ;)

arent the gf's always trying to hold u back. whats going in the 3k pond?

The pond will hold my natives, 6 shortnose gar, 2 green sunfish, a bluegill, and an albino channel catfish. I'm still on the lookout for other hardy fish to throw out there as well :D.

The problem with throwing the pikes in the pond is where I live. I don't think they'd survive the 1-2 months of freezing temps we get in winter. The pond will be somewhat heated, just to keep the water from freezing and to make it easier for the fish to survive the winter, but heating 3k gallons when its freezing outside would make my electric bill so high I couldn't pay it.

Unless you know of any cold-hardy pikes, I don't think I can put any out there (except maybe i the summer...).

I am in the very early pre-planning stages for a plywood tank build. Its going to be for a stingray I'm getting on sunday, once she gets big enough, so when I do that, I'll have some more space for new pikes. I don't know if I'll get to set up any more tanks before that though. The gf already thinks I have too many :grinno:.
