I'm a seller on both ebay and aquabid. 100% positive feedback for over 400 transactions on ebay (unbelievable luck) and 100% pos feedback for 6 transactions on aquabid as a newbie there. Although aquabid is less likely than ebay to stick up for the victim of a fowled auction or nonpayer, it's totally free to list. No insertion fees, no final value fees, NOTHING! I doubt if I could ever get myself to complain to them on a grand scale about anything even if I bought something there and a seller ripped me off. I willfully contribute 3% of my sales to them because that's much cheaper than ebays mandatory fees. The only real prob with aquabid for me is that I don't get nearly as many visitors on my stuff as ebay for the same item. With ebay, if my item doesn't sell, I'm out X amount of dollars for listing fees. As a buyer, be it aquabid or ebay, I would never purchase anything from a seller with zero feedback or only one or two positives but that's just my opinion.

OK so I lucked out LOL but I'm willing to bet that most guys who read this will think hmmmmmm........wonder if that would work for me?
In the 70's I was in a small fish club of about 20 people who were all men (mostly guys married to women who rolled their eyes whenever hubby started talking about buying another tank).Hooray for modern day diversity! To answer your question, you don't know me because I'm not currently a member of a fish organization. I'm guessing that you belong to either the Circle City Aquarium Club or the Indianapolis Aquarium Society? The reason I haven't attended any club events is because I work nights including Saturdays. All events that I've seen posted for circle city have coincided with my schedule. As for IAS, they don't seem to have a website so I have no idea what's going on there. If there is info about them posted on the web somewhere, please inform. For the sake of not deviating from the topic of this thread too far, I would like to hear comments from others who have bought live fish on aquabid, particularly where a transhipper is involved. Often when I find a great fish on the auction market, it's located half way around the world. As I mentioned in one of my last posts, I'm pretty leary of purchasing an expensive live fish that has to endure stress, banging around, temperature changes etc. in a styrofoam box for more than a day.
