Aquaclear 70

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
if the sand is not constantly stirred up and you keep the intake around mid level it shouldn't be a problem, i have a pair of aq-70s on my 75 with an sand bottom and only had a jam once in almost a year, which was when i first started them before all the sand settled, just took the motor apart and used a q-tip to swab out the inlet and it worked perfectly

Also I have sand in my tank will a Aquaclear do fine with sand?

It will be fine with the sand but it may make a crater with tthat flow. But yea no aqueon food for me either f1, NLS all the way. Also sand will work with any filter BTW but when you are mixing it up or adding to it always turn the filter off. Also don't be scared right away if your aq70 wont turn on right away. I noticed it doesn't always turn on always when I turn it back on. Usually it's just the propeller came loose and just gotta push it back down....

I need to spark up my fish life

Aqua Clears are the best HOBs on the market. I own 16 of them. Bought my first one back in 1978. Still running strong with no replacement parts. As for sand, use a pre-filter.

No you should not get an AC70 for your 55g tank.

Go with the AC110 instead

Um, because oscars are and will always be messy eaters. A AC70 will not coupe with a oscar in a 55gal period. A AC110 would work 10x better then a AC70, a AC 110 is two times more the turn over rate needed a hour. Commend sense.
