I am buying an aqua clear power head (The model 50) to push the water through my 18 watt turbo twist. I am gonna be using the aqua clear snap on filter for it. Can anyone see any issues with this setup ? Has this been done ?
 
Anybody :) I am ordering this setup today for my hundred gallon I am finally setting up. I just want some reassurance .
 
I have the Aqua Clear 70 powerhead(400 output) and I love it. Works extremely well, just wanted to put that out there. I dont have the quick filter for it, but I'm sure it will perfectly fine.
 
Thanks packer. I am curious if anyone has used one to power a UV as well.
 
Oh yeah, and great for draining tanks. The python has nothing on this powerhead, lol. Hope someone can help.

I have seen AC powerhead pair up with UV but I don't know specifically which model. If you're running a UV you do not want to exceed 350gph because you'll loose efficiency in length of time the water is expose to UV light. You will definitely need to get the filter foam attachment to keep the water clean as it pump through the UV. This will prevent a lot of cleaning of the UV down the line.

Make sure the hose size fitting of the UV fits the fitting of the AC.

Im definitely using the quick attach filter its in the shopping cart. I plan on running it at about 180-220 gph. Its an adjustable powerhead. I am trying to plan out the plumbing currently making sure all the fittings are ok.
 
What size is the outlet on the aqua clear 50 powerhead? Anyone
