So water is about 7.5, temps usually around 75 degrees also I didn’t know that solar powered heaters existed well in Florida it doesn't get that cold that ice forms.I think deadeye is talking about goldfish not haps.
What about thoricthys. What water params do you have out of tap? I know alot of florida is harder water. Which would benefit them well. Temp wise I'd think would work also, may want to get a solar cover though just in case. Or build a solar heating system. A friend of mine did that for his pond he lives outside Chicago. He just keeps goldfish/koi but his pond almost froze solid the first year it's not very deep. He found plans online. Another uses a pool solar cover just gotta keep the snow off, here in Michigan. His still freezes but only top two or 3 inches and not all the way across.
Oh too bad would been cool though"...fat sleeper gobies are captive bred do you know the specific on how breed?"
Sorry, no details. Good source for such info might be MOTE or UM, though.
Oh I didn't know they have an anti-freeze also I don’t think its legal too do that experiment in school anymore.Yes, a lot of frogs and toads have an "antifreeze" (really high level of glucose) in their blood that stops their cells from freezing and exploding. I believe goldfish do also. I have frozen goldfish solid in a cup and let them thaw and they come right back as soon as they thaw out. (Ap bio)
I think it maybe too hot for trout and they grow pretty big.how about trout? like brookie one of my favourite fish to catch and eat up here in canada always wanted to keep one but not very hardy so might not be great for u
