Just wondering if anyone on here doesn't add anything to their water before putting the water in the tank ? I have a friend who has a 106 gal with sharks and parrots.. she doesn't add anything to her water to remove any clorine or other chemicals.. her fish are fine.. I"ve been keeping fish for over 6 years.. I always add my Aquaplus to the water... do I dare stop using it ?

yep well water or if you have a system like mine ...but i still add i guess i am just use to doing so...

i don't use anything

first of all you said town water that could mean a lot of things take it and have it test or ask the township for a water report and then you can make a good decision as what is needed and how much any supplied water is going to have clhorine and sometimes choramine both will build up in a tank if not treated and will prove toxic after a period, also the heavy metals theses build up also thats why its more important now then it used to be to treat water for aquariums.
IMO use the treatment unless you have nere perfect water its not really expensive compared to your fish(S) health.

i always put water conditioner in my tank about a cap ful per gallon or if you dont wanna go that way you can buy gallon water out the store and just put it in there which is expensive if you have a big tank
