You can do a search for Hydroton.. it's what i used. You can also use gravel.. 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch .. and smaller and you get issues with flow and compaction.. hydroton is NOT cheap.

I was thinking about this the other day. When i clean the gravel in my 150 gl Oscar tank, why not use that in my hydroponic system. Has anyone done it this way.

Weve been using dirty tank water for our garden this year. Gonna make a better set up for it next year. Its just a dirt garden.
