I am finding it quite differnt on the AC boards. I have been on there on and off checking things out and compairing them to the MFK boards. I am finding it intresting on the advice and comments can differ between the two boards yet all is good information.
Anyone else notice any differnces between the boards at all?

i've notcied they are a lot more casual here about overstocking, whereas on AC, if you're overstocked, chances are you're gonna know in 00000.2 seconds. there is also way more guys here, so the gendoral balance is off.

i know... AC got alot of females... :D that is one of my motivation to take over that site..:screwy:

i think AC has been kind to me about my overstocking tank :) :D

I hope everyone doesn't think I am knocking the AC'ers just that I find that the boards are very differnt in the advice, support of idea's, and the general feel. You can tell you are dealing with two seperate communitys which is a really good idea for diversafying your own idea's over a much larger way of thinking.. sorry my mind has fizzed on me as to the last bit but i think you get the idea! I like this new network thing! Thanks Li for making this happen.

its a good balance to get so many different types of views....

It is quite different. People at Ac are a little more testy when it comes to giving opinions. MFKrs are a little more lighthearted about it. Both places have good advice and well intentioned members though. The means are different but the end is the same, good fishkeeeping practices.

And neo, if you were not my boss I'd definatly chew you out for the way you stock your tanks ;) :screwy:

I really like the differences between the two sites. I love how MFK is casual and fun. AC has a reputation for being snobby, but I think it's due to how many newbies we get there. We're all tired of hearing the same stuff about overstocked tanks, goldies with tropicals, not knowing how to cycle. But we should remember that almost all of us are guilty of those mistakes, too. I personally am trying to help relieve AC of the snobby image by making an effort to be friendly with new members and gentle with my advice :)

Bravo, Li! The family of sites is a great thing. They're like yin and yang, two sides of the same coin. I enjoy both these sites very much. Their individual communities and cultures are what make them special.

Hey Li. At AC I'm trying to defend your overstocked tank. People don't seem to realize the difference between flow-through and closed systems.

I think MFK is a little more rogue, we think outside the box. If we look at buying a home with a pool, we look at buying an RTC.

MFK is outside the box.

AC is more of an aquarists site, MFK is a site for freaks!

I really enjoy AC, because there is more info on community tanks, but MKF will always be my home.
