Ok, now I wonder how we are supposed to keep the big fish in the aquarium when they jump and weigh a lot? A thin glass top is used my most people with a light on top of that. If we fasten the top down with something wont it possibly break if a fish hits it hard? What do we fasten it down with anyway? I would like many ideas on what people have done to keep the big fish inside the aquarium?:nilly::nilly::nilly::WHOA:

A guy I know that used to keep arowanas used velcro to hold down the lids after one of his jumped out

I use a small chain to keep the lids on my 265

I use 10mm cover glass with plastic corner protectors (or a silicon bead) to stop glass on glass chipping . I also drill a 32mm hole in the feeding places so I dont have to open the lids very often.

Occasionally I use small sand/gravel bags on lids for emergency tanks.

i put small weights on top of mine

Bricks

Bricks are not as good an idea as they might first seem. From my personal experiences, I have had bricks sent air born which cracked the lids when they came down. Large shards of lids went shymying down which were sharp enough to cut up some of my fish which were still darting about.

I may need to rethink things then...
