Yes, rubencito. If you set the heater to 90 and then the controller to 82, the temp will only go up to 82. Likewise, if you set the heater to 82
and the controller to 90, the temp will still only go up to 82. Either way, both the controller and the heater thermostat would have to fail in order to cause major temp issues in the tank.
