Aquarium help please

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
0_0 RTC Get massive haha, youd need a 10,000g for the 100+ lb ones, thats incredible. I see why you say a 70g is way small now.. How would the Peacock bass fare in the 70g? My friend has a 18" Wolf Fish in his 90g, would one do okay in a 70? Sorry for all the questions I just want to make sure I get this right before I go spending money all on the fish/equipment. :x

Thanks Chris, those are beautiful fish (: is there any catfish that youd recommend for a 70g? Heres a list of some of the fish my local shop sells that im interested in, could any of these live in a 70g? African Tiger fish, Tigrinus Cat, Peacock Bass, Shovelnose Cat
Thank you!!!! To most people outside of the MFK realm, A 55g is a huge tank and a 70g is gigantic... Truth be told a lot of us here on MFK have filters bigger than that :naughty:. Don't get me wrong. A 70g tank is a great starter for a monster fish keeper and can be used as a grow-out tank. If you save your money and browse the classified adds here on mfk and your local craigslist, you will find a deal on a true monster tank to upgrade to.

i dont think you could or should put any of them in a 70g,unless its temporary. those fish get to 24", maybe the tig cat can go in a 125.

As quoted here, All of the fish you listed will definitely out grow a 70g--and pretty quickly.

If you're new at fish keeping, I would also advise against a Tig.

X2---Tigs are hard to keep healthy for the beginner. They require more care and are fussy about water parameters.

How about a Wolf Fish? Or what type of fish would you recommend for a 70g? Yes your right about the size of the tank lol, I thought 70g was huge, but reading up on some monster tanks, I see 5,000g ~ 10,000g tanks lol x_x... I'll have to keep an eye out on Craigslist, checked online and 125+ gallon tanks are $350+

I'm not to familiar with wolf fish. I bought one of my 180g tanks from a guy here on MFK. I got the tank,stand,2)ac110 filters, gravel, heater, and glass for the tops All for $200. There are deals out there---you just have to look :grinno:!!!!

wolf fish 99% of the time can only be in a tank by itsself... or another wolf fish but one ends up killing the other

try bichirs or biggier cichlids mmmmmaaaaaayyyybbbbbeeeee a gar if your tank is wide enough
