lol i have a 300 gallon in my room and i heard it can be hazardous because of water evaporation? everytime i wake up..my windows are fogged up....is that safe ??

Thats condensation. I'd keep an eye out for mold if there is a lot of humidity. Perhaps sleep witht he door open to help move air around.

I had one problem, I live in an apartment, and my common area (living room, diningroom, kitchen, bathroom) is quite a good size :) but my bedroom is small. Living in an apartment, on the bottom floor, IN canada, (I have snow drifts, and cold weather,) my windows are single pane, but double layered. I had a problem with condensation on the windows, they would ice up, and then I couldnt open them, I would have to thaw out with a blow dryer and a heater (not fun :( ) They would get like an inch thick of ice on the window at the bottom! So I had to move the tank out of my room, or put a de humidifier in my room, but that would be too many noises for the "better-half" so we moved it to the living room...

Other than that, I slept like a baby with the tank in the room, and would watch it till my eyes got sore, and plus.. Theres no better waking up then to your fishies beside you!

PS: If you don't live in Canada, I envy you.

Just grab a dehumidifer, and you'll be fine as far as mold is concerned. When I still lived with my dad in his ranch house (no 2nd floor, not actually on a ranch), my bedroom was in the basement. There was a dehumidifier always running, and i got used to the sound.

i cant imagin sleepin without a tank next to my bed.. thats teh only thing that gets me to go to sleep is t now that my fishys are there right beside me..

The splashing of the filters is actually relaxing. I have 70g of water in my room split between my 3 tanks. I feel fine.

hey what are the health disadvantages for having a big aquarium in your sleeping room...thanks

None...It will take you a week or two to get used to the pump noises, but you will be fine...
