aquarium job

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
well... like stated above... most people like the hatchetfish (my personal favorite of tetras)
cardinal tetras, neon tetras, bettas and goldfish..... I mean the income isn't great...

but like my dad always says " When its your hobby its easy to love... whens its your job its not so easy" its something like that.. but its funner (and less stressful) when it is a hobby and not a job...

cheers
shane.....

Would be great if you can make it work you need to be in a large city with a lot of active hobbyists and clubs, woulnt work near me not a single club in the 5 cities near me

I think if you really enjoy fish keeping go for it....but i wouldn't expect the money to be great

Its just like starting any other business. There's always risks involved. As far as "doing it on the side", there's a huge amount of time, effort, and money involved so it would be extremely hard to start up and run this kind of business and keep a full time job elsewhere.

define a "good living" ..... does that mean making lots of money? Or does it mean doing something you really are interested in, you think is fun and fullfilling, but you might be barely scraping by? you need to think about that. After 30 years of fishkeeping, I would LOVE to open an specialty FW fish store, but only if I win the lottery or something so I am not relying on the profits to pay my bills.

location and demand are a must. If your local market is full of lfs, you might be able to fill the "monster" niche and build a nice rep.
