I guess I'll try a different kit. Because in all honesty if my readings were like this for the past 10 months odds are the fish should not have been growing (got the wolf at 6" last April) nor be alive (at least according to what Iv read).

In terms of bio media, the AC 70 has a bag of biomax, a carbon pad (used for canister filters), and 2 sponges, the AC 110 has 1 sponge, 1 bag of biomax+a small bag used for ac 70, 12 bioballs, and also another carbon pad (same one as ac 70), the ATI sponge filter is a sponge. Thays my media breakdown. If i could add more I would lol, but some of the biomax sticks out of the water due to how packed it is (some being like the corners of maybe 3-4 pieces not like entire pieces sticking out)

Yeah, try a different brand test kit.

IMHO, a 90 gallon is too small for a lone 14" oscar, much less 2 other decent size fish.

But isnt the recommended size for an oscar for life like 75?

I don't know where that recommendation came from, but I am going to strongly disagree. A tall, robust 14" oscar housed in a tank with a 48" x 18" footprint is very cramped.

Multiple sites i read have been goin on 50-75. I figured 50g is prob way too small, but i guess I was wrong regardless

Sounds like plenty of bio media to me. Must be a bad test kit. I'm curious to see

An Oscar will survive a lifetime in a 50 or 75 but that wouldn't be a very pleasant existence for it I'm sure. An inmate can spend life in a 6'x 8' jail cell but I'm sure he won't tell you it's a life of comfort. The inmate deserves it though, your Oscar doesn't. I personally would not keep a fish that big in anything less than a 120, but preferably something larger than that even.

Actually a human doesn't need much room for survival. Hell you could even just keep them unconscious for their life and just have the proper nutrients pumped into their body and it would be enough.

Thank you for providing the constructive criticism of telling an owner they are no better than the prison that keeps prisoners. Did you know keeping wild caught fish basically makes you a kidnapper too?

People should provide ample space (imo) because many fish are meant to live for 8-20 or more years and need a healthy home. Personally I always at least double what most people quote on other sites as minimums. Their suggested minimums are often inadequate for a healthy fish.

The exception is PlanetCatfish which I have found seems to take a firm view that fish thrive in more space than the inexperienced aquarist is prone to want to give them, so their minimums are actually the same as recommended.
