Hello everyone. So i adopted a corn snake from my friend about six months ago. The snake came with a 75 gallon tank. While the snake is super happy in her current set up, i am thinking about utilizing her 75g tank as a aquarium, while rehousing the corn into a 40 g that a have sitting around. Im not 100% sure if this particular 75g is designed to hold water. I would guess that aquariums and terrariums are made differently in regard of seals and the ability to hold water. I just dont want to fill it up and then discover leaks or even worse a burst of tank or something haha. So i got some pics of seals and wondering if you guys could help me by looking at them. In the pics i got curent setup and a resident. The bottom seals a heavily siliconed but the walls have very little silicon even though it looks intact.
Thanks 4 ur help.

Right, i just wanna know if the walls of the aquariums have more silicon usually then here. Thinkin maybe putting a coat of silicone on the wall corners before filling it up?

Looks like a normal amount of silicone to me. No clue about what kind of water weight the whole thing will support though.

Hello, their is a safe way to find out. Make sure it has the. The cross brace and check for the sticker on the bottom of the tank. It will say weather its a aquarium or a reptile tank. If it has clips in the frame that means its a reptile tank. Do not do a 24hour test to see It holds. Also check the thickness of the glass. If its factory silicone you can also check that. I actually bought a 40b of Cl and found out it was a reptile tank and decided not to find out the hard way. The sticker also may say do not fill more than half way.

May I also add that aqeon 75g tanks are normally 3/8 thick glass

Thanks guys. So there is no cross brace on the tank and sticker on the bottom is also absent. The thickness of the glass is 1cm which is 3/8 though. And im not sure what you mean by clips on the frame, but i got the picture and thinking the those clips you talking about might be present=(. Not sure if silicon is factory or whatnot.
