So I have come to a conclusion to sell off my 5 sided acrylic aquarium, as I am looking at different options.
I have been looking around craigslist quite often with not much luck, (saw a couple in Seattle that looked good but were too expensive/too big for the space that I have) therefore I am looking for some help.
I've wanted to try to build a tank with my father as we have the same interests, so I have some options. Looking to build or buy something around 6ft L x 30-36" W x 2ft H
Acrylic- this was my first choice after realizing the prices where I live, so that limits my dimension, therefore speaking I have a fear of screwing it up and wasting money.
Plywood- might be a little bit cheaper to do, and should be fairly easy as my father and I are pretty good builders, only downside is the weight and waterproofing, of course if done right there shouldn't be any problems, only fear I have is a leak.
Pentair- I have been looking at their tubs, but the price is very limiting, of course it maybe in my interested to purchase one,but I'm also looking for the most cost effective route
Craigslist- been looking at some tanks here, but they are very expensive, but I have managed to find a tank in Seattle which might suite my interest, 10ft x 30" x 2ft for an amazing price (included some pictures)
Waiting could be better, but what if nothing that I am interested in becomes available and I wasted my time and opportunity to purchase something of a good price, or start building.
These were some options that I was looking at, but I would like some advice in which route to take, as there are many experienced members on this site, that have had experience with some of these.
