With 2 6 foot tanks he can play musical tanks when problems occur. Any fish will be able to go into any tank. If he went with one he is stuck or if he went with one six foot and one 55 some fish like venustus or oscars, and other large ones wont go in a 55 for long if at all. If he can afford it i would go with two six footers . Thats what i am doing now. Changing from 6 tanks (only one is 6 footer) to 2 tanks (one six and one 7 foot).

Tell her to come back to the house and look. Your few tanks should not matter.. ha ha ha

get the 125 and 55 w/ stand
so cheap saves money

I know having 2 big tanks sounds cool! however, you should start with one and decorate according to the type of fish you want. Your wife will be more likely still want space for your other things also, unless you have a huge house? your talking about covering a room with tanks or at least two walls. My advice is to show her how much you love the one tank and can care for it and then she may like to get another smaller tank in a few months?

Well, In the near future I have a 300 sq foot detached garage that I am insulating and drywalling and It will be my fish room, so one big tank will be out there and one will be in the house for a "show" tank.
