I managed to cut my hand open on a sharp edge in my tank over the weekend whilst trying to get my stand pipe apart, not a big cut (just 2 stitches) but its across the back of my middle knuckle so they had to splint my hand to I dont rip it open when I form a fist :(

Surely some of you guys have some interesting injuries to tell as a result of the tranquil world of Monster Fish Keeping?

I ALWAYS cut my wrists on the glass at work. Such a pain.

My leichardti has bent my finger back pretty bad and caused some nasty bruising.

Skin get soften with water while cleaning tanks.... I often cut finger so thinking wearing a glove.

lets see. bean stabbed by assorted catfish not to bad, stepped on a bischir very painful now all my tank are securely covered. bean bitten by an alligator gar and several oscars, also got bitten by a water mocisan collecting feeders. but thats life and you dont give up on driving the first time you have a car wreck

I had a nice size piece of a heater get lodged in the palm of my hand, of course that was after I got the shock of a lifetime from said heater. God love the inverntion of the GFI.

An had a 1ft wolf fishlatch on to my thumb, that was fun :WHOA:

I've been bitten, flogged, poked, shocked, cut and have had aquarium elbow from
working long hours cleaning my tanks.

just the usual shock here and there :naughty:

This did not happen to me but my friend.

He had this stand/setup where he had three tanks, one on top of the other. Shelf type of a thing with tanks. On the bottom was a 55 gallon, middle and top were two 33 long tanks.

He had this little ladder that he would get on whenever doing maintenance on the top tank. One day he got on and while doing the water change he splashed some water on the floor and the ladder and ignored it... few minutes later he slipped and literally flew backward landing straight on his back.

He actually did not get hurt during the fall but as he was falling he managed to kick the bottom 55 gallon and completely bust it open. As he landed on his back he got covered with water and all of the fish basically ended up dead.

I'm sorry but i had to laugh about that one...i can just picture him gettin covered by 55gals of water..lol. Personally I have had so many injuries workin on my fish tankz or with my fish...its not even funny. I am super accident prone though...lol...ask any of my friends that and they will agree. Don't bother me much though, very resiliant. I have to say the worst one though was i was cleaning the glass lids, dropped it, got cuts all over my foot, got glass in my foot(normally do waterchanges barefoot...hehe...dunno why...just do), then the same tank i went to go unplug the heater and got the LIVING HELL zapped outa me...to say the least I was not a happy camper. If that wasn't enough I had a bucket of hot water dump over my already sensative feet. I had to take a break for a while after that....lol.
