I'm always hyper paranoid about things that go into my tank and being safe for fish...the sponges I've been using to clean my tanks (wiping/scrubbing algae off the glass, submerged decor, etc) are pretty much falling apart at this point because I dread having to find replacements I trust so I've been using them for like 5 years lol. Finally sucked it up and went hunting for new ones and man, seems to be like looking for a needle in a haystack. Everything is anti bacterial and anti mold and yadda yadda. 99% of anything I picked up states not for aquariums right on the packaging. I finally managed to find these two different options that seem like maybe they'll be okay. The packaging on either doesn't state "not for aquariums" like everything else, and they don't say anything about mold inhibitors or whatnot. Thoughts?

I've been having a great experience with scrub daddys. $4 I think at Wal-Mart or online. No chemicals added. Great at removing alge.

How about if you were to get some poret foam (the real stuff), that is meant for filtration, and cut it into manageable sized pieces for cleaning?
