I just bought a 55 gallon fish tank for $20. The top middle part where the brace is has a crack. It did not go all the way through and the brace is still intact. It might be okay like that with the crack but I would like to glue it. I searched around the internet and found that expoxy glue is safe if it is the right kind. Was wondering, if I can buy just gorilla expoxy glue from a hardware store?

RBC,
I'm currently studying at the School of Hard Knocks (majoring in lessons learned) and am doing frustrating well (I expect to graduate some place near the top of my class). I have experimented with a lot of different glues and adhesives but personally have not tried Gorilla Glue on acrylic. I'm assuming the brace you mention is acrylic. Please note: I have found that by assuming anything, any tests done will vary in outcome.... dramatically (refer back to first sentence). I can tell you that Gorilla Glue is messy and if your experiment doesn't achive theorized desired results, any clean up probably won't be easy, quick, or enjoyable as theorized either. (refer back to first sentence). I have found the manufacture "IPS Weld-On" is (so far) the best stuff I've used on acrylic. They make several products with different viscosities and all work fantastic. I purchased from E-Bay as nobody locally sells it (refer back to first sentence...again). If you are inclined to try Gorilla Glue still, try it on a scrap piece first (refer back to...you guessed it, I'm bragging) and post your findings ( I promise not to plagiarize your test findings in my thesis).

P.S. In all seriousness, I wouldn't waste my time with Gorilla Glue unless somebody posts back that they've used it and it worked. Even then, I'd try it on some scrap stuff first and see what happens before I messed up what sounds like a perfectly decent tank. Good find for 20 bills!

Auto parts store...good idea! I tried the local hardware stores and "big box" home improvement stores in the area...
