Aquarium Safe SAND?

It's sand blasting sand and works very well. It does not need to be washed really, this is it in a 100 gallon 24 hours after being put in:

It doesn't look like that in person, lighting is off. Has specks of black in it and looks great.
 
It's a good sized grain on that sand, I would wash it anyhow, even if it looks clean there is probably some dust in there that can be cleaned off, no need to clog the filter with it.
 
I switch from playsand to silica sand and I never regret it. Silica sand looks cleaner and whiter and does not clump up like playsand which will result in anaerobic buildup.
