Aquarium Salt...true/false?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The claims that were originaly said are true. Except for the colour enhancing one. Salt does help with infections/diseases, and because marine salt is commonly used, it adds calcium to the water due to the need of calcium for corals. However, this is freshwater and dont have corals, so calcium isnt a needed element.

Most salts raise the pH and hardness of the water IME.

Yep, and sea salt contains traces of magnesium salts, calcium salts and others. Table salt is refined sodium chloride. As for sources, I read the packages and visit the manufacturers sites.
As for the anticaking ingredients, you have to check the makers sites to find out what they use or read eatype of salt's package
