Aquarium Sand?

Hey Malden Mills...get yourself some pool filter sand.Stuff is GREAT!Just heavy enough to only come up a little when violently disturbed, and perfectly heavy enough to scramble back to the bottom AWAY from filter intakes!It's crushed quartz.Stuff is great!Mad cheap too!

I tried play sand and its too light, gets sucked in the filter.. I been looking for pool filter sand for a while until yesterday, i found it at "farm and Fleet" by the section where they sell inflatable pool etc. Its less than 7 bucks a 50gal bag. They are not as fine as sand but fine enough and dont get sucked in the filter. I actually like it, better than gravel and playsand. I would certainly recommend it, specially now that its summer time, most stores should have it.

I meant 50lbs bag not 50gal.
