While I'm at work I have an aquarium screen saver I use to help get me through the day.

This particular one has most all my favorite fish. I am using it today to help decide which fish to buy next for my tank.

he's the link to the web site:
http://www.dreamaquarium.com/

Here are some screen shots of tanks/fish combinations I have created.

I like the second pic the most, but I'm not a fan of how they just edited the color of the yellow lab in pic 2 & 3. The red/purple & green fish aren't right. Not to mention some of the mixing issues you would run into.

hahaha.. my thought exactly.. hard/soft/brackish.. sweet..

The screen saver includes one optional custom fish (african cichlid) to color any way you like. I use it to see what it would be like to have fish in colors that are currently not available.

The body / fin movements, lighting, and 3D effects are realistic. The gills, mouth, and eyes also move. I own a number of aquarium screen savers; this is currently my favorite.

Best part is you can mix fish from different water types and temperments and not worry about injuries, sickness, or death.

the first pic looks the most real to me. the second one is just too artificial.

nice software.. i just installed and playing around with it... I will say that from a fish keeper point of view.. its all nice. but mixing species to me is too fake.. gonna try to just keep it minium..

Thanks for the page.. very cool software...

The first picture is a 2D user add-on picture. Pictures two and three are 3D and come with the screen saver. The fish can swim around the 3D objects in pics 2&3. They can only swim in front of the 2D pic.

What's cool is you can take a picture of your tank (preferable when first set up or with most of the fish hiding) and use it as a 2D background. Then you can add computer generated fish to swim in "your" aquarium. This will allow you to feel more at home, while at work, watching your own aquarium in action.

I want a croc Gar with my neon tetra's how do I do that ? lol cool program.

The developers add new fish species over time based on user feedback. The latest additions are the Discus and Angel fish.

I would like to see them add Oscars, Red Tail Shark, Silver Dollars, and Guppies.

Here's a screen shot of the screen saver using one of my tanks as a background. It is hard to tell the difference between the real and computer generated fish.
