Aquarium Screen Savers

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
pretty realistic graphics! but an auratus, fiddler crab, discus, and angel all in the same tank? :)

Sorry, no Plecos yet.

I have another aquarium screen saver that has a starfish. The developer said it was the hardest and most complex creature he has created; unfortunately it is boring to watch.

It ran ok after I tried it again... downloaded the demo

Too bad I have 4 types of fish tank screensavers already (1 saltwater) and none have plecos yet. Most are peaceful fish(barbs, danios, goldfish). Need someone to do monster fish such RTC or TSN.

The program scales the size of the fish depending on the distance from the from glass of the tank.. That is how they get the illusion of tank depth. The fish get smaller (to the eye) as they swim towards the back of the tank and larger when they swim towards the viewer.

Some programs add a fog effect proportional to the depth (Z axis) to simulate the viewing of fish through additional inches of dirtier water. This SS assumes clear water.

Another reason for the big Black Tetra is I have the "follow fish camera" on in that tank. So as the camera pans and zooms to follow one fish that is heading to the back of the tank, any fish that swims in front of it looks big. The fish size is bigger than normal because the camera is now technically inside the fish tank.

It's a pretty cool feature. Kind of gives you the fish's perspective of what it would be like swimming inside a tank.
