Whats the best way to get rid of the classic aquarium smell? I was thinking about getting a air purifier.

Febreeze XD

I know what your talking about but I don't smell it unless I stock my face in he tank during a water change

+1 only ever really smell it when my tanks cycling

I have a 10, 55, and 75 and it doesnt make really any smell. by any chance do you not have lids?

i find a lot of the time that smell is caused by the lid. tiny tiny particles of uneaten food will be stuck to the under side, they just slowly decompose their and start to smell.

sometimes its just a build up of yucky stuff caused by condensation.

i would take the lids of the tank and clean them thoroughly.

also, burning coconut oil helps a lot!

Yes I have the nice glass tops on my tanks. I really do keep up with all my maintenance. Tanks get weekly water changes and algae scrub downs. I did spill a tiny bit of water a few weeks ago while doing a water change but I'm sure it was enough to cause the oder I am experiencing.

Spray Febreeze on the area where you spilled the water and see what happens, One small spill goes a loooong way on a carpet.
